I have decided since I am no longer a SPED Case Manager at New America and I can refer students to different schools that might benefit them to graduate I am going to get a hold of some past students who got kicked out and give them referrals. The problem before I could not refer or reach out to them when they were unenrolled from the institution. This last year has been most difficult with having to deal with my morals and ethics. The main thing is I was not leading the school and I fought hard for their rights. I only know that even if I didn't agree my hands were tied and I was being supportive for all students, and staff. I however have a specific girl who needs very little to graduate. I started a go fund me page to help her through correspondence classes from and accredited institution from Illinois.
I am starting a GoFundMe page it is:
https://www.gofundme.com/endpovertystartswi
This will be me humbling myself to reach out to others for help for these students. If I could pay for it I would but I have spent so much this year with basketball and in the classroom. I will blog and figure out what other ways I have raised money for this cause. I will also blog about the status of the students. I am also using my facebook to blog.
My first priority is to help a young girl who needs 4 credits to graduate. Their is a lot of statistics that explain without an education and literacy poverty is high. This girl suffers from anxiety and trauma. She has the desire to finish school just doesn't have support her mother recently died. She has a hard time functioning in a classroom especially if it is noisy or unruly.
I believe she would benefit from correspondence classes. She also doesn't do well with online classes.
I will meet with her next week to go through the registration for her to start at American Schools.

My Doctoral Journey while working
Today I am doing to start blogging again. I just finished my second class for my Doctorate. I have been really busy working full time as a SPED Case Manager at a Charter School in the South Valley in Albuquerque, NM. I also had my first experience coaching basketball. I have had a great but stressful year. I am just going to start blogging about my experiences with my roles from Doctoral at Capella, and my SPED Case Manager and the journey of trying to get a leadership position. I recently applied to two schools in Florida. One of the positions is Management and Leadership the other is a teaching position. I plan to write about my experiences in New Mexico. In fact I have taught over ten years in Illinois and they have it together when it comes to teachers, contracts and their worth. They have great Unions that make things right as a profession in teaching. Well hope you enjoyed that is all for tonight...Keep on Keeping on!
